This past November 28, we came into the office to find our inboxes stuffed with emails from friends telling us that we had been name-checked on the show HEROES. Apparently the character Hiro tried to cheer up a despondent girl by promising to take her to a 24-Hour Samurai Marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. We were shocked and pleasantly surprised, and we ran to watch as many episodes of the show as we could. Turns out it's one of the best shows on TV, and Hiro is the coolest character to come along in quite some time. So as soon as we could, we got in touch with Masi Oka and asked him to come down and host an actual 24-Hour Samurai Marathon. To our great surprise he was as pumped up about the idea as we were. So mark your calendar and quit your job if you have to because this is hands down the greatest thing that's ever happened in the history of mankind. I believe the reasoning for this event being put on hold is because the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown location is moving a few blocks over in a couple months. As someone who frequently attends the Downtown location, I can't tell you enough how excited I am for all of this.
